Training Camp for Y-Squad!

As my last blog post stated, I have a second World Race squad this year!  They are Y-Squad and will leave the USA early August for their journey around the world with Jesus! On June 5th Y-Squad arrived to Gainesville, GA for our 10 day Training Camp!

(During Training Camp we aim to prepare the squad physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We have workout challenges and a fitness hike with their pack. We desire to see our squad physically healthy so that they will be able to go anywhere God calls them to go and not be bound by physical conditions.  We also enjoy teachings designed to grow us as individuals by reflecting and working through internal healing in any areas of brokenness in our past or current experiences. The racers learn very practical information about life on the race and in other countries. They learn about cultural sensitivities, feedback, community, how to share about Jesus cross culturally, and much more!)

Like always, Training Camp was a beautiful whirlwind of a busy tired schedule yet being overcome by the joyous goodness of God in each others’ lives!  I felt that this Training Camp was unlike any other Training Camp I have experienced with Adventures in Missions. There was a new level of movement of the Spirit that ministered to the individual hearts of the racers, bonded the squads with supernatural unity and love, and instilled a contagious passion and desire to make God’s name be known among the nations!

I believe this movement we saw in the Spirit parallels a bigger movement God is doing in reviving his precious Church, the body of Christ. We saw racer’s healed of physical ailments, set free from lying voices of the enemy and bondage from past shame, experience God’s presence in new ways such as through visions, prophecies, spirit-laughter, tongues, new worship styles and more! I believe there was a new level of freedom that each racer walked away with that draws them closer to their Maker. (Thus making them FAR more effective missionaries- or bringers of light, love, and Truth!) ๐Ÿ˜€

A lot of these monumental transformations were expressed through a water baptisms the last full day of camp. The Racers came to the baptismal pool expectant that they would encounter God in those waters. That after that ‘cleansing’ encounter with God they would walk away different, they will walk away refreshed. It was beautiful to be able to baptize about half my squad and see the laughter and joy God brought them with this encounter of His presence in the water.

There were many cool stories from Training Camp. Here’s a couple I picked out for you guys to enjoy:

  • Check out Kati’s awesome blog recapping her time at Training Camp with photos here!

  • See Laura Leigh’s blog about surrender and highlighting her water baptism at training camp here.

  • Jewels experience of being healed and also discussion on doubt here.

  • Married racers, John and Victoria, give details on both of their takeaways from Training Camp here.

Provision Update:

Since I now have two squads on the field, I have an increase in my fundraising opportunity! Fundraising has been SUCH a growing blessing to me. It has been a builder of faith and humility in my life. Often times I have gone to the Lord explaining that I am good at ‘making money’ and I could be working hard at a job and bringing in loads of money for the Kingdom LOL. But God continues to say, “I know you can do it. That is the point. You could do it on your own. You wouldn’t NEED me like you need me know”… Wow. Ugh. Truth.

So for the last five years I have NEEDED God in such a deep way as the provider of my everything. Giving up complete control over my stability and my future and saying ‘I trust you will direct and provide for me’. It has been so good but also so challenging. And one of the main ways God is providing for me is through YOU. He is moving hearts to align with what He has put in me. Hearts that want to see ‘the Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven’. He is putting trust in me into the hearts of my supporters both for prayer and finances.

So, with faith I say, here is my need. An increase of $150/month commitment. Will YOU be a part of God’s provision in my life and partner with me to raise up a generation who knows God intimately and wants to see a world transformed for His glory? Whether it’s a commitment of $25, $50, $75, $100, or the full $150 a month, you can have an active role of God’s hand not only in my life but many many others. As I train and empower my Racers, they are sharing the good news to the ends of the earth, reaching far wider than any one of us could do alone. Please consider joining this movement the Lord is doing all around the globe of bringing broken hearts the good news of a loving and good Father.
