Welcome to 2019 my friends!!

I canNOT believe it is already March! How crazy! This new year I have already launched my new 2019 squad (T-squad), wrapped up my 2018 squad (G-squad) and spent three weeks on the field in Taiwan! To give you a quick look at what the last two months have held for me here is an overview snapshot!

Overview Snapshot of Happenings:

  • 12/28 to 1/03: Leadership Training- My 1019 alumni leaders come to Gainesville for pre-launch training.

  • 1/03 to 1/07: Launch Training in Atlanta for T-Squad (my new January 2019 squad)- The whole squad comes for a few days of training before they launch overseas

  • 1/07 to 1/12: Project Search Light (PSL)- My 2018 G-Squad (they returned to USA early December) comes to Gainesville for a transition off the field check in. Week spent in fellowship, processing the change, and focusing on how to live a Kingdom life in the USA.

  • 1/15 to 1/18: Mentor Retreat- The mentor staff went to the mountains together to rest and receive from the Lord. I am blessed to work in an organization that realizes our health and connection to the Father greatly affects our ability to love and lead others into His presence.

  • 1/28 to 2/04: Field Debrief in Taiwan- After one month on the field, we have a debrief to check in on how the first month went. This time was great for reflecting, realigning to the vision and purpose, and celebrating all God has already done within the first month.

  • 2/04 to 2/13: Field Training in Taiwan- After debrief I stayed with the squad to do some more in-depth training on the field. We were able to do teachings on a topic and then go out into the world and do what we just learned in order to help activate concepts into a reality of living. Topics included were: how to live in victory over darkness, Holy Spirit empowerment, spiritual giftings, power of prayer, being led by the Spirit of God, spiritual disciplines, and how to share your faith. It was an incredible time of diving deeper and learning together.

  • 2/13 to 2/17: Field Squad Leader Care & Bonding in Taiwan- After training I spent a few days with my alumni squad leaders. It was a good time to give them care and attention as well as bond to build friendship and understanding with each other as we attempt to lead T-Squad in unity of the Spirit.

As you can see it has been an eventful last couple of months! We work pretty hard over here at Adventures but God is soo good and I am so alive with Him in me and His works flowing out of me that a busy schedule and high demand is easy and enjoyable. (I do not always feel this way every day but God brings me back to this because this is the ultimate truth regardless of how I feel in the daily moments of up and downs. Maybe you all can relate? haha)

Where are They Now?

Currently my squad is camping in Hong Kong. They flew from Taiwan to Hong Kong on February 28th to apply for their Chinese visas in Hong Kong. God provided an incredible opportunity for the squad to camp for free in Hong Kong while they await their visas (Hong Kong is crazy expensive.) So far 16 out of the 19 have received their visas! 3 people have their visas in review. Please pray for favor from the Chinese government and that all 19 of the team will be able to go into China!

Stories from the Field:

  • Check out Emily’s video about their time in Japan here.

  • Here Parker shares pictures and stories from both Japan and Taiwan.

  • Ashley reflects on what she has learned about doing ministry in her blog here.

  • Here Susanna shares about her time in Taiwan and what she is learning about prayer.

  • Jake has encountered the realness of the Lord in a life changing way while on the race and expresses his new found freedom in a beautiful metaphorical story here.

A School Called Hope:

Adventures in Missions has a lot more departments and programs beyond the World Race. Last year Adventures sent out a documentary team to Northern Uganda to film and bring awareness to the refugee crisis there. The team spent over two months in the refugee camp. Please check out there film called, A School Called Hope, here!
